The Hinesville/Ft. Stewart area has been named an Inc. Magazine "Boomtown" for 2007, ranking as the 48th best metropolitan area overall nationwide for business. This is an increase from Hinesville's ranking in 2006, where it was ranked #69 overall.

The magazine provides an annual report of the U.S. cities considered to be best for business based on an analysis of job-growth data supplied by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on 393 metropolitan statistical areas across the country.
